Tour 5: Forest, Village floating Trip on Tonle Sap




After you finish (Day3) or (Day4) also you can do floating village (Chong Kneas) or floating forest (Kompong Pluk) if you still have enough time to drive there but just do one by one. More and different things after temples. Called Kompong Pluk ( floating forest ). Kompong Pluk is floating forest at the edge of the Tonle Sap Lake. Chong Kneas about 20 – 30 minutes from the center of Siem Reap and 30 – 40 to Kompong Pluk.

  • Chong Kneas, as you know, is a floating village at the edge of the Tonle Sap Lake. This is where the boat docks if you’re arriving from Battambang or Phnom Penh. It’s about 20 – 30 minutes from the center of Siem Reap. On the way to the floating village itself, you’ll see large paddy fields and stilted houses on both sides of the road. You’ll also pass by Phnom Krom hill which has an ancient temple at the top.
  • It’s short time but Amazing life style on Tonle Sap lake.
  • There’re Floating House, Restaurants, Schools, Fisherman and Sunset on the lake.

  • Kampong Pluk is about 35 Km locates on the Southeast of Siem Reap Town. Two ways are accessible to Kompong Pluk, a charter boat ride from Chong Kneas takes one and a half hour and the other by overland just one hour by car, upon arrival at dock meet a boatman drives a long a small stream to the village. In dry period we can drive Tuk’Tuk or car all the way to the village because the road is clear.
  • It’s along the way to Rolous Village but still far from Rolous Group temple. Have to take Tuk’Tuk, Car or Mini Van to the ferry . So have to take a boat trip for visiting.
  • There’re Floating House, Told House (Life style of Fishermans),  Village on the Island on Tonle Sap lake, Floating Forest with Sunset.

Time
  • Tour start after finish temples trip. But also can do whenever you want.
  • Start 4 pm to floating village for sunset on Tenle Sap lake if you stay in town.
  • Start 3 pm to floating forest for sunset if you stay on town.

  • Two to three people = $20 each
  • Sixth to twelve people = $15 each
