Tour 6: Long Distance Trip To Beng Melea & Koh Ker Group Temple

Tourists call Brasat Thom is Pyramid in Koh ker group temples area. In the middle of a jungle, a couple of hours from Siem Reap. It’s nice view of the pyramid from the entrance, no other buildings blocking your view, very solid construction of the pyramid. And very few visitors which makes it a pleasant experience. Stands a step pyramid temple that affords a view of much of the surrounding area. The climb to the top looks daunting at times, with a wooden staircase along the one side of the temple, but do not fear. Going up the 160 steps is worth it when you see the view from the top.
One of the oldest sites from the Khmer empire, Koh Ker Group Temple stands as a 10th century reminder that this was once the capital city. Due to the age it has been looted over the centuries and the complex as a whole is lacking much of the decorative statues that are seen at other sites. That does nothing to minimise the beauty and grandeur of the imposing pyramid, though
